DoseOptics LLC is a young start up developing imaging camera systems for radiation therapy, which capture radiation dose delivery in real time and give this to the therapy team. This technology was invented at Thayer, patented by Dartmouth, and now licensed to DoseOptics for development of a commercial prototype with testing at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. The technology is funded by $1.4 million in seed grants from the National Institutes of Health. This is an opportunity to experience the feeling of a real technology start up enterprise, taking a technology from concept through testing into clinical trial use and sales. Company product design, development, iteration and testing is a key part of the job, leading to a successful result no matter what the costs. Team work within a group of Thayer faculty and alumni is essential with on the ground work in multiple locations, primarily the DRTC and DHMC.
